- Photography has 3 basic elements i.e. Shutter Speed, Aperture & ISO. It ‘s represented as a triangle because if you change any of setting, the others will need to be compensated
- Shutter speed is the length of time the shutter is open, the difference could be tenths of a second
- Aperture is the amount of light let into camera. Think of window, the more light gets through and the room is brighter
- ISO is the sensitivity to the light. The higher the ISO number the quicker the sensor reacts to light. In old days, this was the film speed
- Each one has to be compensated, it depends on lighting, lens, subject, artistic choice
- Understand CELL… C – Compositions, E- Exposure L – Lens L- Light
- Focus on Composition, remove the clutter, Get Closure & Crop as tightly as possible
- Put Subject off – center/rule of thirds
- Create impact by using frames & real or inferred lines
- 7 Rules to follow for experimentation: Leading Lines, Rule of Thirds, Filling the frame, Framing the subject, Unusual Angle/View points, Depth of Field, Symmetry & Texture
- Create Contrast – Hard v/s Soft light
- Too much light creates an over bright image with white spots: part of the image are over – exposed
- Too little light creates an under bright image with black spots: part of the image are under – exposed
